Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
El Paso Investigations, PLLC (“El Paso Investigations,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit this website, request an investigator, apply for or hold a membership, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who we are
El Paso Investigations is a private investigation referral broker. We connect people who need investigative services (“Clients”) with independent, licensed investigation agencies (“Member Agencies”). We do not provide investigative services ourselves and we are not a consumer reporting agency. This Policy covers our own handling of information; Member Agencies and our payment processor handle information under their own policies.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Client request information: your name, email address, phone number, the state where services are needed, and the details you choose to share about your matter.
- Account information: if you register, your email and authentication credentials.
- Member / agency information: business name and contact details, the states you serve, your services and published fees, and licensing and credential information (including license numbers, issuing authority, status, and, where applicable, the supervising licensed company and any individuals you list under your agency).
- Communications: messages, support requests, and other information you send us.
- Payment information: membership payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers; Stripe processes card data under its own terms and privacy policy.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Log and usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, timestamps), IP address, device and browser type, and similar technical information collected through cookies and comparable technologies.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Licensing and credential information we may verify with public licensing authorities or verification sources, and transaction status information from our payment processor.
2.4 Sensitive matters
Investigative requests can involve sensitive subjects. We act as a conduit that routes the request you provide to a Member Agency; please share only what is necessary and lawful. Do not submit information about others that you are not permitted to share.
3. How we use information
- To match Client requests with Member Agencies that serve the relevant state and service, and to route and manage referrals.
- To operate memberships, listings, eligibility and license checks, the public directory, and the lead board.
- To process membership payments, send receipts and renewal notices, and manage subscriptions.
- To communicate with you, respond to inquiries, and provide customer support.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Services.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How we share information
- With Member Agencies. When you submit a request, its details are shared with the licensed Member Agency that is matched to or claims your referral, so the agency can contact you. Member Agencies are independent businesses that use your information under their own policies.
- With service providers. We share information with vendors that help us operate the Services, including Stripe (payments), hosting, and email delivery, limited to what they need to perform their functions.
- For legal and safety reasons. To comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as a business asset, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction or consent.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Services, and understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function without them. Because there is no common standard, we do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
6. Calls, texts, and email communications
If you provide a phone number, you consent to be contacted at that number by El Paso Investigations and by the Member Agency handling your request, including by phone call and text message, for purposes related to your request or membership. Message and data rates may apply, and you may opt out of non-essential messages by replying STOP or contacting us. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails. We may still send transactional messages (for example, payment receipts and account notices).
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, operate our business, comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or de-identify it.
8. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To make a request, email contactus@elpasoinvestigations.us. We will verify your request and respond as required by law.
9.1 California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and may request deletion or correction. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by that law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request.
9.2 Texas and other state residents
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar state laws, eligible residents may confirm whether we process their personal data, access and correct it, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling. We do not engage in those sale or targeted-advertising activities. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if an appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.
10. Third-party links
The Services may link to third-party websites (including Member Agencies and Stripe). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; review their policies directly.
11. Children's privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Where your information is processed
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored here. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the revision. Material changes may be communicated through the Services.
